Meridian's First Baby Of 2020

New Year’s Day will always be a little extra special for one Meridian family.

Baby Chazaiah Scott was born at 1:30 am weighing in at six pounds and 5 ounces.

His family is excited about his arrival, especially his grandmother and older sister, Raelynn.

“ I’m Excited, I’m really excited. Are you excited about your little brother? Say I’m excited”, said grandmother, Yvette Roberts.

“I’m excited!”, said older sister, Raelynn Armstrong.

“Say I got a baby brother”, said Roberts.

“I got a baby brother”, said Raelynn.

Chaziah wasn’t supposed to be born until January 11th, but his parents had a feeling he would be making an early appearance.

“I predicted that”, said Charles Scott, father.

“I did know”, said Robyn Armstrong, mother.

And his father has great hopes for him

“He going to be big, he going to be a big part of the future –he going to be a big part of the future”, said Scott.

He also had three words to offer his new son.

“Just never stop”, said Charles Scott.

And his nana is ready for him to come home.

“It’s going to be a joy, I can’t wait until he get home”, said Yvette Roberts

According to UNICEF, around the world more than 392,000 babies are born on New Year’s Day.
