Mississippi Dept. Of Education Stopped In Enterprise To Award The District

Today, the Mississippi Department Of Education made a stop in Enterprise for their Celebration Of Excellence Tour.

Students from all the schools in the Enterprise School District gathered at Enterprise Middle School to celebrate the district’s “A” rating.

State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright presented the Enterprise School District with an award in honor of their A-Rating.

District Superintendent Josh Perkins say’s that the award means a lot to the community.

“It’s huge for our district and huge for our community and we’re very proud to be a part of it”, said Josh Perkins, District Superintendent.

But this is not the first A-Rating award for the district.

“This is the fourth year that I have been here at enterprise and it’s just exciting, it’s a exciting time for the community, come together and really celebrate such great accomplishments this district has done”, said Dr. Carey Wright, State Superintendent.

Dr. Wright shares that the celebration of excellence tour is her favorite part of the job.

“It’s a pleasure, actually, it’s a part of the job that I love the most, being able to come and help everybody just say, you know, congratulations and a job well done, it’s not easy to earn an A, and they’ve earned one for four years in a row”, said Dr. Carey Wright.

She also shares that Mississippi school districts, as a whole, are improving.

“You just seen a lot fewer D’s and F’s and a lot more A’s, B’s, and C’s and that’s exactly what you want to see, is just everybody improving, because it means the great things for children and I think that’s what we’re seeing, that teachers and leaders are doing exactly what we need them to be doing”, said Dr. Wright.

The Mississippi Department of Education awarded a total of thirty-one districts with an “A” rating for the 2018 to 2019 school year.
