Meridian Police urge gun owners with children to secure their firearms

Following a tragic incident police are urging gun owners with children to secure their firearms.

Twin States News spoke with a gun safety instructor on how you can safely keep guns in your home with children.

“They’re pretty inexpensive, getting you a lock box, whether it be by key, you know or the touch pad or whatever, and keeping that handgun locked in there, the ones that you’re going to use most or that you’re going to use for personal protection”, said Bolie Stokes, Instructor at “The Range @ 601”.

The Meridian Police offers gun locks free of charge at the police department on 22nd Avenue.
