Crime In Meridian Decreased Significantly Since 2014

After releasing their FBI Uniform Crime Report last Wednesday, the Meridian Police Department says that last year was their best year ever.

In 2019 The City Had 584 Less Crimes than they had in 2014, but Chief Dubose believes there is still room for improvement.

“That’s not anything I’m willing to brag about at this point, because until the community embraces our numbers and feels safer or even safe then we’re just spinning our wheels, so we have to address the issues that our community is concerned with and namely that’s the random gunshots that we’re having at night, we have to address that”, said Benny Dubose, Chief of Meridian Police Department.

The Meridian Police Department asks that if you know about crimes they are investigating, that you call them or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers
