VFW Raises Flag For Local Veteran's Birthday

The VFW along with the Patriot Guard MC riders and members of the "Chunky River Hog", raised the U.S. flag in front of the VFW post on 23rd Avenue today.

It was all to honor 85-year-old veteran, Harry Little.

“Oh, it’s unbelievable, you don’t see this much in a lifetime”, said Harry Little, honored veteran.

“This man here today, this is a birthday present –this flag and he’s kind of overwhelmed and a bit humble himself, but he was a Marine corp. lieutenant and you know, once a marine always a marine, once an army guy, always an army guy, so we’re just pleased to contribute and help in the community. So, we’re just pleased to contribute and help the community”, said Marty McCann, commander at VFW post 12124.

The U.S. flag will fly alongside the Marine Corps flag for 24 hours to celebrate Little’s birthday.
