Collinsville Piggly Wiggly Honors West Lauderdale High School Students

In Collinsville, a local grocery store has created a hall of fame to honor student-athletes at West Lauderdale High School while they are out of school due to the pandemic.

Joe Williams, owner of the Collinsville Piggly Wiggly –transformed the sitting area in the deli into a “Hall of Fame” featuring banners with the school’s name and student athletes.

Williams says this is a way to recognize the student-athletes years of hard work and seniors.

“We’re not finished decorating yet, we’re going to try to do some more and basically –its also to recognize any of the seniors her at West Lauderdale, since we’re uncertain about what might happen in late April and mid- May , late May, and you know –with the time that school would normally be out”, said Joe Williams, owner of the Collinsville Piggly Wiggly.

As of now, Mississippi Public Schools are closed through April 17, 2020 and the Mississippi High School Activities Association has suspended all sports and fine-arts activities during this time.
