Coping with anxiety disorder

Meridian, MS - Anxiety is a common mental disorder millions of American face on daily basis. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, depression affects about 16 million American adults every year. Anxiety is characterized by having intense and uncontrollable feelings of fear, worry, and, if left untreated, panic attacks. In our ever-changing society, Clinical Therapist, Dr. Lin Hogan with Weems Community Mental Health Center advise the feeling of anxiety is ‘a normal part of life’ and share these tips on keeping stress levels low.

"To establish and maintain healthy boundaries in their life it’s okay to say no and to mainly exercise and maintain a good work life balance routine in their life," says Hogan.

If you’re feeling anxiety is interfering your daily activities or have pro-long symptoms, speak to your doctor or contact a specialist. We’ve included a link to Weems CMHC, which can be found by clicking here.
