Updated: Jul 29
Today, the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation held a press conference acknowledging the impact of COVID-19 and continuing to patronize local businesses.
Restart Restore Recover is the title of EMBDC’s campaign to help reopen the local economy. With COVID-19 ripping through the state, businesses in the community search for some sense of normality.
“I’m really enthused to tell you today that the EMBDC and it’s five-hundred and plus members are excited about joining together with the city and the county to create messaging that we can get out to out to our community,” says Chairman of EMBDC Archie McDonald.
The campaign is designed to help build confidence and strength as businesses begin to reopen and support businesses in the city of Meridian.
“We had contributions to make for the campaign and we’re very excited about it’s effort to revitalize our energies toward recovering,” says The MAX President Mark Tullos.
Tullos explains during this time, businesses must continue to press forward.
“I think the message of this campaign-we're grateful for the governor’s wise guidance and restrictions on where we are right now, but we’ve got to continue to push forward as businesses.”
With the campaign in place, Tullos says business is beginning to pick back up at the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience.
