Webb & Stephens Funeral Home held their Annual First Responder Appreciation day. They showed their appreciation to all first responders by providing a free lunch to thank them for all that they do.
"Well, today we're doing our 9/11 cookout where we pay tribute to all of our first responders in the area for the wonderful job they do and just everything they do for us. And it's just a chance for us to give back to them," said George Warner.
Webb & Stephens partnered with Zac’s Catfish and Chicken to provide the meals, Zac the owner tells us what made him want to take part in today's appreciation day.
"We just, you know, we appreciate our first responders, our Firemen, our Policemen, our EMTs. We've done this for several years now, helping out," stated Zac.
Warner says this is their 7th year doing this and others share how it feels to give back to those who do so much for our community.
"We always look forward to having this 9/11 event. It's a chance for us to give back to the community and let everyone know how much we appreciate what they do, and the hard work that they do. They have long hours and it's really dangerous. And so we just want to be able to thank them for what they do for us," said Eve Bogan.
Greg Mangum an employee of Webb & Stephens Funeral home said," We're just really excited to give back to the community and thank our first responders that they go and put their lives on the line each and every day to take care of all the citizens here and to protect us and make our lives so much easier. And so we just want to do something to give back to them and show our appreciation. So that's why we're providing this free meal and just have a time of fellowship for them and let them know how much we appreciate them."
