1986 Graduates Give Essential Items to Senior Citizens

Updated: Apr 25

The class of 1986 from Meridian High School will be delivering essential items to senior citizens at three apartment complexes tomorrow, April 25th, 2020. 1986, Kenneth Rue says giving back to their community is the goal.

“Some of the items we’re giving are toilet tissue for one, paper toilets, kleenex, water- a couple bottles of water in the bag, and a word search puzzle. Three apartments we are supporting this weekend will be Oakland Heights, Deville Manor and College Park Apartments.”

After graduation, the class decided to continue to support their community through different fundraisers.

“We started having our class reunions and we wanted to do something different than the other classes were doing and we decided to give back to our alma mada to some of the students there. And let them know once we graduated that doesn’t mean we stop supporting.”

Rue says the senior citizens have played a big part in their lives and they just want to show their appreciation.

“Meridian High School class of 1986 always tries to promote our community and help our community in any way we can. We wanted to do something to show we appreciate what people do for us.”

In addition, the class plans to continue their effort in helping the community.
