The Lauderdale County School District (LCSD) is getting ready for its 4th annual Recruitment fair. The district is looking to bring in new and qualified educators to join the district's family.
The school district will be holding a recruitment fair tomorrow, January 18,2022, at their central service office located at 301 46th Court. Assistant Human Resource Director Dr. Deshannaon Davis tell us more about it.
“So right now, in the LCSD, we are accepting applications for all subject areas”, says Davis. “Anything from mathematics to special education, reading, and language, arts, coaches. We are always looking for the brightest and best individual that we can bring to LCSD that will make a difference in the lives of our students.”
Twin States News spoke with some people in the community who believe that bringing in new teachers is a great idea and believe that it will benefit the children as well.
“I feel like it’s important to have new teachers come into Lauderdale County because our young people in Lauderdale County are our future”, said a local parent, Emily Thompson. “It’s important to invest in them with education and to have the best teachers we can.”
Lowell Martin, a Meridian Community College English professor says that bringing in fresh and new ideas sometimes is the key to advancement.
“I think anytime you have new coming in, it brings new ideas. You bring new ways of doing things and sometimes it takes an outsider to look at things and say hey let’s do it a little bit different”, said Martin.
The recruitment fair will take place from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18,2022. The organizer asks that you bring at least eight copies of your resume with you. To register for the fair, you can visit www.lauderdale.k12.ms.us
