LEMA to distribute masks to Lauderdale County Schools

Updated: Jul 8

The Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency will be providing Lauderdale County Schools with PPE before a new school year begins.

Masks distributions from the state have decreased over the past few weeks, giving LEMA the urge to step in.

“We got with the state-with MEMA and requested masks so we could give out to the Lauderdale County School District to make sure the students, teachers and all the administration have masks," says LEMA director Odie Barrett. "We’ve got some N95 masks that we’re going to provide to the nurses in each school and then we’re going to have cloth masks that’s going to make sure all the administration and teachers have masks and also enough for some of the kids.”

Barrett says the PPE will be distributed to the schools throughout the next week.
