Meridian's Housing Market

Current homeowners who are either looking to sell or buy a home may be wondering if now is a good time to do so.

The housing market has suffered hectic activity these past two years but the Broker at B.J Lewis Real Estate says that sellers and buyers in The Queen City who may have been on a rollercoaster ride during the pandemic may finally be coming to an end.

Billy Joe Lewis, Broker at B.J Lewis Real Estate said, "I think the future is really bright for our area here in meridian and the surrounding area. I've never seen it like this here in our marketplace."

Mr.Lewis says that right now in the meridian market it is a Seller's Market and that houses are selling fast.

"For over a year, if you put a nice house on the market, say $80 to $300,000, in less than a week, it'll be under contract with multiple offers. I've never seen it like that before, and it's been sustained," said Lewis.

In the Meridian market, Mr.Lewis explains if there is an increase or decrease in houses being available on the market currently.

"I think with the interest rate perhaps being predicted to go up a little bit, I think it may kind of gradually slow the fast-selling process down a little bit, and it may give us more inventory, perhaps, but it is still a good market."

Mr. Lewis opened the doors of B.J Lewis Real Estate Company here in Meridian on March 1, 1998, and says the Meridian Market is currently at its best.

"We have a lot of good growth going on going on here, Meridian. New homes are being built and we got stable subdivisions. They're maintaining themselves. I'm so glad to see the growth and the development, and the cleanliness of our community."
