State Games Of Mississippi Gives An Update On 2020 Events
Today in Meridian, the State Games of Mississippi gave an update on their plans for the 2020 opening ceremony and planned sports events.
In mid-March, the state games of Mississippi announced that due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Netfest 2020 has been postponed with plans to reschedule the event in the future.
Today, the organization has announced that it is confident many of their premier sports will be held this year, but the traditional opening ceremony on June 5th will not take place as planned.
“We’re going to do our best to hold as many games as possible throughout the rest of the year, once things are safe and we’re able to do so, we’re working with our governing bodies and with our medical team to make sure that we keep everything safe and healthy for the athletes for their families, for our staff, for our referees, coaches and commissioners ---for everybody”, said Bobbie Harmon, Marketing and Development Director for the State Games of Mississippi.
The State Games of Mississippi will consistently update participating athletes with information regarding dates and locations for planned events via their website and social media platforms.
