The MAX Kicks off Audio Engineer Camp Tuesday
Updated: Jul 29
The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience is hosting an audio engineer summer camp for teenagers ages 14-18.
Tuesday through Friday, participants will experience fundamentals of sound recording techniques, radio software and more.
“Generally in any audio engineering class, you start off with a lot of science,” says MAX audio engineer Johnathan Parkison. “We’re going to crunch a bunch of that into an hour or so today and get down to the basic understanding of sound waves and just being able to visualize what you’re working with. Beyond that, we’ll discuss software, hardware-whether it be microphones or the big mixer boards.”
Three seats are remaining to attend the camp. The camp is $100 for members and $115 for non-members.
