IF YOU LOVE TO SHOP, AND YOU LOVE TO SUPPORT MUSEUMS, TWIN STATES NEWS DANNY TODD HAS THE STORY ON HOW YOU CAN DO BOTH AT ONE LOCATION.
You've heard of Black Friday shopping and you've probably heard of support local Saturday shopping, But Wendy West of the MAEX Museums tells us about a unique thing that happens on Sundays for museums.
Wendy West- Visitor Services Manager says "A lot of people are not familiar with what is known as museum store Sunday, which is Sunday after Thanksgiving, and it's traditional for most museums across the U.S.."
Wendy West expressed that shopping at the MAEX Museum on Sunday is a good way to support the museum and attract positive attention.
Wendy West says "You'll have an opportunity to spend the wheel to get discounts and some free giveaways. We do offer free gift wrapping for those of you who are looking for that unique gift that you can't just find at your traditional retail stores."
The MAEX has a little bit of everything for food lovers, art lovers and a lot of holiday decor, just to name a few. Wendy also tells Twin States News about the impact your support brings to the museum.
Wendy West says "All of the proceeds, of course, when you buy from museum stores go to supporting our mission and programs here at the museum. So, we appreciate any support that we can get."
You do not have to pay museum admission to come shop in their store. Wendy West also wants everyone to know that they will have free hot chocolate and food samples from items they sell inside the store.
