Todd Tilghman Honored By The Mississippi House And Senate
On Thursday, June 11, Todd Tilghman, winner of NBC’s “The Voice” season eighteen, was honored in the state capitol building in Jackson by the house of representatives and the state senate for his big win.
Alongside his family, Todd sang “Amazing Grace” for The House of Representatives and was able to say a prayer for both the House and the Senate. During his visit at the state capitol both chambers passed resolutions recognizing his win on The Voice. Todd shared that he was glad to experience his visit to the state capitol with his family.
“This whole thing for me , from the beginning and everything that happens in the future, that all the things that are coming have always been more about my family and even the other people in my life, than they were strictly about me and so, it was just super cool that they were able to be there and be a part of it, and I was able to sort of –in a really official way, I was able to sort of lay some credit down where its due, which is with my wife and kids”, said Todd Tilghman.
Following their visit with the house and the senate, Todd and his family were able to visit the governor’s mansion and meet Governor Tate Reeves and Mississippi first lady, Elee Reeves.
